Nadine de Koenigswarter is the granddaughter of the legendary “Baroness” of jazz, Nica de Koenigswarter. “Nica” was an aristocrat member of the Rothschild family from Europe who moved to the US in the 1950’s and befriended the greats of jazz, including the likes of Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk and Art Blakey. She got into many scrapes by treating her friends as the extraordinary artists they were and refusing to accept the racism norms of those years. Now her granddaughter tells part of her story in “Three Wishes” and reveals the wonderful candid photos her grandmother took of her famous pals.
