Journalist and author Jonathan Eig talks about Opening Day, his book about Jackie Robinson’s first season of professional baseball. Eig discusses the impact that baseball had on the Civil Rights movement, Robinson’s ambitious and stubborn personality, and the reason why Robinson was chosen as the first black major league player.
