Wilbert Rideau – In the Place of Justice

David speaks with Wilbert Rideau about his book In the Place of Justice. In 1961 Wilbert Rideau committed a murder in pre-civil rights Louisiana. Sentenced to death by an all-white jury, Rideau managed to survive but spent 44 years in prison. He became a reader then a writer then an award-winning journalist behind bars. His story is one of rehabilitation, redemption and struggle against legal and social forces seemingly too huge to move.
