Aside from his work at Congregation Bet Haverim, Lesser has also served on the boards of PFLAG, the Anti-Defamation League, and Hillels of Georgia and for the past three years has taught rabbinical students how to create welcoming communities for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Jews.
